Since several years HIPIMS technology has proven itself in an R&D environment as being able to produce dense, defect-free coatings. Hauzer Techno Coating has succeeded in taking the HIPIMS technology one step further - to an industrial level. HIPIMS+ is born.
HIPIMS+ is characterized by an average power of 20 kW with a pulse length of 50-1500 ms. The deposition rate and adhesion are comparable to arc. Control of microstructure is combined with perfect adhesion. The result is a dense, atomically smooth coating. The price/performance ratio of HIPIMS+ looks promising. HIPIMS+ holds much promise for tool and automotive applications. Tool coatings such as AlTiN or tribological coatings such as CrN are denser and smoother when made with HIPIMS+. The technology is available in the Hauzer Flexicoat® 850 and 1000 machines. Retrofitting of existing Hauzer Flexicoat? machines is also possible...
